Community Economic Development

Students wanting to contribute to community revitalization or helping communities prosper will find what they鈥檙e looking for in the Community Economic Development major. This major prepares students to work with local governments to manage issues related to improving economic conditions in rural areas. Students in this major will also be prepared for jobs in state and federal governments or non-governmental organizations that work on rural issues.

Students in this major will cover topics that include rural job creation, labor markets, growth-agriculture conflicts, and land-use management. Courses include Rural and Regional Development Policy, Agricultural Law, Food and Agricultural Policy and Sustainable Economics.
